Functionality & Mechanism

This data collection instrument, associated with the University of Minnesota's Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP), is engineered to facilitate program evaluation. The system is designed to capture pre- and post-intervention 24-hour dietary recalls, a "Getting to Know You" survey, and a 30-question adult evaluation. An integrated food tracker function displays an overview of daily nutritional values based on user input. To support diverse populations, the platform accommodates data collection in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Karen, Hmong, and Somali, and utilizes audio-visual cues to assist low-literacy users.

Intended Use & Scope

This tool is designed for participants and administrators within the EFNEP for the purpose of programmatic data collection and evaluation. Its primary utility is the systematic capture of self-reported dietary and survey information. Data quality depends on user input. This app is designed for contribution to program evaluation, not for individual nutritional decision-making, and does not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
